John Murray, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

As chairman and CEO of AdvancePath, John maintains overall responsibility for AdvancePath's strategic and financial objectives.

Prior to joining AdvancePath, John was Chairman, President and CEO of PLATO Learning, Inc. (NASDAQ: TUTR) where he had a successful 18 year career. PLATO is the largest, publicly traded, educational software provider in the world and serves the needs of both mainstream and alternative education. Under John's leadership, PLATO's revenues grew from $33 to $142 million in 7 years, its balance sheet was significantly strengthened, and it became recognized by educators, policy makers, and politicians as an industry leader and change agent.

Prior to assuming the duties of PLATO's Chairman and CEO, John held numerous other positions at PLATO - including President & Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Product Development. John started his career at PLATO by launching the military and aerospace training division in the UK.

Prior to his career in business, John spent 16 years in the British Army's Signal Corp after leaving high school at age 15. John was recognized in the Queens 1985 Birthday Honors list for his outstanding contribution to Army training. John, who is passionate about improving life opportunities for at risk and drop out students, is Chairman of the National Dropout Prevention Network (NDPN), the largest organization in the US focused on the Nation's dropout problem.


Wade Davis

Mr. Davis was appointed Senior Vice President of Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions of Viacom, Inc. in January 2007. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President of Mergers & Acquisitions at Viacom since January 1, 2006. Before that, he was Senior Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions of the former Viacom Inc., a predecessor of the Company, since October 2005. Prior to joining Viacom, Mr. Davis was an investment banker in the technology and media sectors for more than a decade. Most recently he was a Managing Director, Co-Head of Investment Banking and Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at ThinkEquity Partners. Prior to ThinkEquity, he was a Managing Principal of Lazard Venture Advisors, LP, and a Vice President of Lazard Frères & Co. in their Technology, Media and Telecommunications M&A Group. Previously, Mr. Davis was one of the founding members of Wasserstein Perella & Co.’s Technology M&A Group in San Francisco.


Kurt Bergquist

Prior to joining Exeter Capital Partners in 1996, Mr. Bergquist was an Associate at Easton Capital, a technology venture capital company. He is a director of K Media, FactsOnFile and Natural History. Mr. Bergquist received a BA from the University of Minnesota, a JD from Tulane University Law School and an MBA from Columbia Business School.


Clement Erbmann

Clement Erbmann is a managing director coordinating international activities with First Analysis Securities Corporation (FASC), and focuses on educational and environmental investing. Prior to joining First Analysis in 1989, he worked for Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in securities sales, fund management, special equities, and private placements. Clement serves on Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management Alumni Advisory Board, is co-chair of the Anti-Defamation League's international affairs committee, and is treasurer of the Education Industry Association. He earned an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cape Town in South Africa.


Sonia Rodriguez

Sonia Rodriguez is currently serving as coordinator for education initiatives for the National Farmworker Service Center in California. Previously, Sonia served as President and CEO of Education Associates of America, a private consulting firm located in Los Angeles, California. In 2000, she was named President and CEO of a non-profit organization, the LAAMP/LEARN Regional Education Reform Alliance, founded by a group of business, civic, and education leaders in Los Angeles for the purpose of advocating for the school children in Los Angeles County. She is a member emeritus of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. Sonia has worked as a teacher, principal and central office administrator for school districts in Texas and Colorado. She has held numerous leadership positions in community-based, state, national and international organizations.


Victor D. Hanna

Victor is a Partner and a member of the Investment Committee of Hybrid Capital. Victor is responsible for Portfolio Management and origination of new investments. Prior to Hybrid Capital, Victor was Managing Director at Comdisco Ventures, where he was responsible for portfolio management, restructuring/workout, billing, collection and eventually the sale of a venture debt and equity portfolio of over two billion dollars. In this capacity he personally originated over $220mm of debt and equity investments and a fund of funds pool of over $120mm. He oversaw more than thirty-five people in San Francisco, Chicago and Boston. Victor started his career at Nicholas - Applegate in San Diego where he was an Investment Analyst in the Emerging Markets Group. Victor has a degree in Law from the University of San Diego. He holds a BA/BS from the University of California in both Political Science and Geology. He was formerly an officer in the US Army and has served in a number of theatres including the Gulf and Panama.


Tom Vander Ark

Tom Vander Ark is Managing Partner of Revolution Learning. Previously he served as President of the X PRIZE Foundation and Executive Director of Education for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where he developed and implemented more than $3.5 billion in scholarship and grant programs to improve education throughout the United States. Prior to his role with the Gates Foundation, Vander Ark was the first business executive to serve as a public school superintendent for one of Washington State's larger school districts that has been recognized for narrowing achievement gaps and reducing administrative costs.
